This group has been active since 1983 and there are now about thirty-five readers. The aim of the group is communicate the Word of God in a clear and reverent manner at Masses. Members of the group are rostered to do Readings at the weekend Masses, and for special ceremonies. They meet monthly, usually on the third Tuesday at 8.00 pm in the Iona Centre.

Offering their service in this way gives people the opportunity to gain a better understanding and appreciation of the Readings and Gospels, as well as a greater sense of participation in the Mass. The group recruits new members from time to time.
