Established back in 1983, the KCG committee is comprised of
about ten members who co-ordinate the various activities. They
work in conjunction with the managers of each individual event.
The whole idea, of course, is to get as many kids as possible
involved and enjoying the experience.
As most of the events take place between April and July, most
of the meetings and activities take place around that time.
Generally the committee meets once a month, but more frequently
when the season is at its peak.
For the Community Games to happen in Knocklyon, it is essential
that people volunteer as organisers and managers - the more
people that get involved the more activities can be provided
for the children of the parish. The Community Games has long
been identified as a great way for youngsters to get involved,
especially those children that have no previous involvement
in clubs.
Details of the numerous activities available can be seen at
the ESB Community Games website: WWW.COMMUNITYGAMES.IE
