Parish Week

Knocklyon Christmas Fair
Sunday 29 November 2009

The Knocklyon Christmas Fair coincides with the start of the Advent Season and reminds us all that the annual Christmas rush is about to kick in.

The Fair is the biggest parish event of the year - it gets the whole community involved, gives us opportunities to snap a bargain, meet old friends and raises significant funds. In spite of the atrocious weather the people turned out to support it - no surprise there.

As always thanks go to all the volunteers who helped out - big jobs and little jobs - they are all important; to the school staff who make their facilities available; and to the parishioners of Knocklyon who supported it again this year. The money raised goes back into parish youth activities, and a contribution is made to our twin parish in Africa - St Simon Stock in Rusape, Zimbabwe.
