The WYD Cross and Icon 23/24 Nov 2003

A Million Thanks to everyone who helped make the visit of the World Youth Day Cross and Icon of Our Lady and Jesus so very memorable last weekend. A special word of thanks to the Scouts, Scout Leaders, and all other young people who helped carry the Cross into the Church and put it in place beside the Altar. It was truly an emotional moment as the Cross was carried shoulder high and lowered into position.

Thanks too to Eva Coffey and her dedicated team for organising such a wornderful children's drama at the 7.00 pm Mass on Sunday; to Hazel Gormley-Leahy and Craig Carey who contributed so much to this Mass through their dramatisation of the Gospel and personal testimonies; to Anne Loughman, Chaplain of the Community School, who prepared the students and Liturgy so well for the 10.00 am Mass on Monday; to all the teachers and pupils of our schools, to Ruth Kelly, the Gospel Choir and all who rendered the beautiful music; and lastly, but by no means least, to the sacristy team, church cleaners, and all those who work diligently behind the scenes on our behalf, not just on big occasions like this, but all year round.
