Knocklyon Parish Rainbows Programme 2008/2009

Following on from the successful programmes of the past number of years, a parish based Rainbows programme for school going children aged between 5 and 12 years will commence on Tuesday 4th November 2008 at 6.45pm in the Iona Centre. It will run for six consecutive Tuesdays before Christmas and recommence for a further six weeks on Tuesday 13th January 2009. The “final act” of this programme will be the “Celebrate Me Day” which will be held on completion of the programme. The Rainbows programme is primarily for children of Knocklyon Parish but other children who wish to take part will be facilitated if possible.

Rainbows is described as “peer support programme to assist children, adolescents and adults who are grieving a death, separation or other painful transitions in their family.”

There will be a meeting in the Iona Centre for parents and guardians of children who wish to attend before the programme starts so they can see the books and journals the children will use and familiarise themselves with the programme.

For further information please contact the Rainbows Co-ordinator c/o The Presbytery, Idrone Avenue. Phone: 4941204.
