XXIII WORLD YOUTH DAY 2008 SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
LATEST NEWS FROM DOWNUNDER
For the past week Sydney, Australia, has been the very heart of the Church. Ciaran Cunniffe, Barry Walsh and I (Fr. Philip) are down under along with hundreds of thousands of young who have literally taken over this bustling, cosmopolitan and very beautiful city.
The faith of the young people is just incredible and wondrous to behold - “Jesus Rocks” is the mantra everywhere! On this World Youth Day let us unite in prayer with Pope Benedict XVI and the youth of the world that the Holy Spirit may sustain them in fidelity to the Gospel and enable them to continue to be Christ’s witnesses to the very ends of the earth.

Want Your Voice To Be Heard? Like to join the Parish Youth Forum?
At the moment most members of our Youth Forum are from St Colmcille's Community School. We would like to cast the net a little further this year, and so we invite young people who are in other secondary schools to consider joining.

Youth, Action, Prayer
The Ichthys Gospel Choir and the Knocklyon Carmelite Pilgrimage Lourdes Blue Ties Group made presentations at the Parish Pastoral Councils morning for the Blessington, South Dublin and Tallaght Deaneries, held in Kimmage Manor on Sat 15 Sept 2007. The theme of the morning was Youth, Action, Prayer and several parishes had stands on the various youth activities that are going on. As well as speaking at the event, the Ichthys choir performed some of their songs and were very well received.
